Mr. David Anjoubault, General Director of Kantar Worldpanel Vietnam said that although the size of Vietnam’s E-commerce market is small compared to other forms, it has great potential for growth in the value of FMCG through E-commerce has reached 69{70b45ee78418f42abd3d9f3844ba2e48a8b0129d2b75d7c15f341553206e1abb}. This makes Vietnam one of the countries with the highest e-commerce growth rate in the world.
Major global growth will mainly come from the US, predicting e-commerce market share will increase from 1.5{70b45ee78418f42abd3d9f3844ba2e48a8b0129d2b75d7c15f341553206e1abb} in 2017 to 8{70b45ee78418f42abd3d9f3844ba2e48a8b0129d2b75d7c15f341553206e1abb} in 2025. This could be contributed by the advent of the success of click and collect models (online and pick-up at the nearest store), home delivery model and periodic subscription, and new models that are continuing to grow in the world. Korea and China will continue to be the leading markets, and Asia in general will continue to be a key market. Ecoworld’s e-commerce site will create a foundation for the producers and business owners to sell their products after production, without having to sell them to traders at prices much lower than the actual prices.
Regarding partners supplying goods to MrEco.co, Ecoworld said that there are about 1,000 suppliers to date and it is expected that by the end of 2019 there will be about 10,000 suppliers for this e-commerce platform.
